Navigating Differences

"In the beginning of our relationship, we found being different to be attractive...and then it became annoying!"

Chad is strong, steady and pretty straightforward in his approach to life. I (Kristen) on the other hand, second guess even small decisions and am more sensitive in my emotions and relationships.

In the beginning of our marriage we found our differences to be attractive because they were new - outside of our normal. But as time passed they became annoying because they disrupted our way of life.

Chances are you and your spouse are wired differently, too, because, it's a real thing, opposites do attract.

In our podcast episode, Navigating Differences, we discuss why being different is a good thing!

Next time you find yourself annoyed at your differences and you feel them starting to divide your marriage, ask yourself, "Is the issue due to my preference or my spouse's personality?"  We can't change our spouse's personality but we can allow the difference to broaden our perspective and bring balance to our relationship... one Marriage Minute Monday at a time!
